Oddly enough, I’ll take these flaws over star ocean the 2nd story R given I get new content (even if Raymond going to Laeticia’s underdeveloped planet is recycled, though Laeticia’s story cuts some bs dialogue) and flight, without undermining the skill system of the original (skill tree here whereas 2nd story used to have skill books and killer moves but is a tree with specialty arts). It’s also easily available on ps plus extra rather than pay 50.

1) Invisible barriers (watch out for that tree) and stairs are annoying.
2) Default choice is no to buying stuff. This is just like entering new areas in legend of dragoon and is immersion breaking to remember yes means no, each time when I haven’t played in a while.
3) Esowa game needs some guide to find cards despite everyone you can talk to (some buildings and townspeople are inaccessible) wanting to play against you, so it’s condescending pacing.
4) Note your Stamina if you attack too frequently, and you have to manually equip both attacks and special skills.
