Chained Soldier, known in Japan as Mato Seihei no Slave (Japanese: 魔都精兵のスレイブ, Hepburn: Mato Seihei no Sureibu, /”Slave of the Magic Capital’s Elite Troops/”), is a Japanese manga series written by Takahiro and illustrated by Yohei Takemura. It has been serialized on Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump online platform since January 2019. An anime television series adaptation by Seven Arcs is set to premiere in January 2024.

When entrances to a different dimension known as the /”Mato/” emerge all over Japan, a new resource known as /”Peaches/” are discovered which give unique abilities only to women. However, dangerous monsters called /”Yomotsu Shuuki/” also roam throughout the Mato and have been responsible for various disasters ever since. To combat them, the government formed the Anti-demon Corps, an elite group of women who have received power from the Peaches.
One day, a high school student named Yuuki Wakura was walking home from school when he suddenly got lost in a Mato entrance. When he calls for help, he is immediately rescued by Kyouka Uzen, the chief of the Seventh Unit of the Anti-demon Corps. Recognizing his potential while also needing him to make her Peach power more effective, she asks that Yuuki join the Anti-demon Corps by becoming her slave, a position he might find more enjoyable than he initially would have thought…

Mira Kamiunten (上運天 美羅, Kamiunten Mira) is the Anti-Demon Corps’ 2nd Unit Chief. Mira is a tall, well-endowed young woman with long dark yellow hair that appears to reach her back as well as seeming spikier near the end with three black lightning bolt lines on the sides of her hair, and orange eyes, earrings, and black collar. At first, Mira comes off as aggressive, vulgar, cold-blooded and belligerent, cursing whilst confronting fellow colleagues such as Kyouka, who is a fellow rival for the Commander’s seat. Despite the fact she looks like a delinquent, she is kind and generous in her own way, such as waiting for Kyouka so that she could congratulate her on getting her revenge on the One-Horned Shuuki, then fixing Yuuki’s shoelace and posture before heading into the meeting. Prior to joining the Anti-Demon Corps, Mira was very powerful and respected gang leader who was undefeated in Okinawa. During this time, Mira also met Megumi Zaha who became one of her most devout followers. Eventually, Mira encountered Kyouka Uzen who became the first person ever to defeat her. Mira formed a fierce rivalry with Kyouka and the two joined the Anti-Demon Corps shortly afterwards.

Kuusetsu (空折, Kūsetsu) is one of the Eight Thunder Gods, consisting of the so-called Gods who rule over the Shuuki. After Kyouka Uzen freed Koko, Naon, and Mira from her, she also sliced the egg she regressed to. However, instead of being dead, her spirit resides inside of Yuuki, having drank drop of god from her.
At first, Kuusetsu appeared as a large egg with two legs and wings. After absorbing Koko Zenibako and Naon Yuno, Kuusetsu took on the physical traits of a Humanoid Shuuki, their traits, in particular, including a number of small horns around her head resembling a crown.
Aside from her appearance, Kuusetsu also took on the personality traits of Koko and Naon, being highly confident both in her strength and beauty. She is also prone to anger, to the point of even knocking down Rairen, who looked down on her, without hesitation. She is also rather cheerful whenever around Shikoku and Jouryuu, often referring to her as Shikoku-nee and Jouryuu-nee respectively.
