Was Joseph Smith a literary genius? Or is the Book of Mormon the word of God as revealed to ancient prophets on the American continent, recorded in their time, and translated over a thousand years later by Joseph Smith by the gift and power of God. No amount of “evidence” will convince me (or you) that the latter is true. I’ve received my own personal witness(es) from the Holy Ghost that it IS true, and each sincere seeker of truth will have to do the same to KNOW for themselves. As in all matters of the gospel of Jesus Christ, God requires faith. He will never give us sure “proof” or else faith would no longer be needed. He does however provide compelling evidences to intellectually confirm the spiritual. The great folks over at @scripturecentral, including my brother-in-law @noahheaton, have dedicated a full series to these “evidences”. If you haven’t watched yet I highly recommend checking it out!
