Out in the woods at the tail end of a deserted New England farm is a spot where people dumped their junk metal and bottles back in the 1800s . It is not your typical dump all in one spot over the back of a rock wall but it is like they hauled it out with a wagon and spread it about. Using the metal detector you can actually isolate some of the stuff in the ground as well as just digging in and seeing what you can find. Buttons, buckles, bottles, pottery, lanterns, tools you name it we found it. We walked around a bit later and found a bunch of coins being that these woods have been used for recreation for decades . Metal detecting old places you will find stuff.
