Pluto takes this concept and runs with it. Naoki Urasawa, the legendary author behind Monster, decided to put a dark spin on the Astro Boy series and created the manga Pluto. It captured the heart of Maruyama, the producer of Pluto, who by the way is the original founder of MAPPA.
