Sean Kendrick’s life has been defined by the Scorpio Races. So has Puck Connolly’s. For Sean, the Races are his ticket to freedom. For Puck, the Races could also be her ticket to freedom. The problem? There’s only one winner of the Scorpio Races, but there are many, many who die trying to win. And does Puck, a girl with no experience with the carnivorous water horses at the center of the race, even stand a chance?
Our main gripe with this book is that even though it’s called the Scorpio RACES, very little time is devoted to the race itself. Still, if you like stories of the Misty of Chincoteague variety (with the addition of quite a bit of romance), you may want to check out this atmospheric and unusual story.
