Barnabas Collins is a young and wealthy aristocrat who, after offending the witch Angelique, is turned into a vampire and buried underground for centuries. When he awakens in the year 1972, he discovers that his family has fallen into decline, and the family estate has become dilapidated. Barnabas strives to restore the glory of his family but becomes entangled in the complex internal conflicts within the family.
