Perhaps the finest of Conan Doyle’s supernatural tales. It certainly has everything: a whaling ship in the arctic and a captain who appears to be on the edge of sanity. Plus it’s September 11 and the pack ice is closing in, as are the nights.

Enjoyed this one, using my trusty old antipodian valve microphone for a change. Nice tone to it.
