*I got the name of the protagonist of Oryx and Crake wrong, which, though wholly unintentional, only strengthens my argument about the weak characterization in this novel.

**Please note I omitted mention of one book, Denton Welch’s I Left my Grandfather’s House as I only recently made a video featuring it.

Apologies for mangling a few sentences, saying the wrong word on occasion, using ‘really’ too frequently, but that’s the admission price of these more relaxed videos rather than the heavily edited ones.

Finally, I hope it’s understood why I didn’t rank what I read. I don’t want to sow discord with my videos, but for those who wish to know, if pressed to pick a favorite from these 50 novels, I would choose Luis Sepulveda’s The Old Man Who Read Love Stories.

Best wishes to everyone, thank you for all your support this year, and I shall see you in 2024, the Year of the Dragon!
