This was eye-opening, both with what was happening inside and outside. The stark contrast of what was happening inside the Conference Center, compared to what was happening outside with street preachers insulting and ridiculing Latter-day Saints walking in-and-out blew my mind.
There was so much happening in such a short amount of time, I didn’t get a chance to do much else. For instance, due to construction, I didn’t even recognize the iconic Salt Lake Temple until hours later when I noticed a number of Church members looking through a window at the extensive construction site.
After all that, I’ve been genuinely curious to learn more about the Church, explore the state, and attend a historic Latter-day Saint church service in Utah.
For this video, I asked a few friends who are church members in the Beehive State where to go, and boy, did they come through. I got a chance to buzz around Temple Square, check out the Church History Museum, and also attend the historic 10th Ward Chapel in Salt Lake City. This is a pioneer-era LDS church, and is the oldest meetinghouse still in use today in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It has such a unique history that’s about to celebrate it’s 175th Anniversary after first being organized in 1849.
