Gigafactory Texas on 15 December 2023! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and soon, the Next Generation Car!

As you’ll see in the images and video, it was a low cloud and misty morning at Giga Texas, with rain showers in the vicinity and forecasted to come through later today, so I was able to sneak in and fly while the conditions permitted.

I wasn’t sure if I would be able to, but I got lucky today and I’m glad I did as there were many interesting new developments today, including over 50 Cybertrucks on the site. Some of these were in the outbound lot for pickup, some were testing on the helicopter pad and the rain maker device on the east side testing and calibration lot, several were at the crash testing facility on the east side of the battery cathode plant, and some were lined up on the south end of the factory.

Of the ones lined up on the south end, a few looked to be in the process of being recycled, while others looked to be newly completed. Indeed, we can get a glimpse of even more peeking out from the End-of-Line Open doorway!

Some other highlights from today include:

The south end building extension work continues across the construction site, with perimeter grade beam trenching, rebar, forms and concrete pours along almost the entire length. footing construction also continues with most of the footings and column bases in the center section now poured with concrete, and the bulk of the excavation work, rebar and form installation ow on the west side. The steel structure itself continues to get steel installed, growing to the west and crews were also installing rebar on top of the sections where floor decking was installed. This is in preparation for concrete floor pours.

The multi-level parking garage continues to be assembled at a quick pace, and we see the stairwell on the west side now reaches to the top level. The progress is now enough to say for certain cars will be able to be parked on the top level, exposed to the sky and verifies there will be 7 levels available for parking. More double-T panels were being installed on the east side, as well as more footing forms and rebar.

I have been told by an onsite source to look for paving of both the east and west Warehouse on Wheels sections soon. I’ve actually been helping a little in this process by providing the images they needed of both these sites for preparation to commence this work, so I’m glad to be able to help out in a small way!

The west side End-of-Line facility continues to see electrical conduit work on the north and south ends, and trenching for plumbing on the west side, along with concrete pads for the HVAC containers that are temporarily stored on the south end. Also on the north end, work continues to complete the last area needing receiver doors and wall panels installed.

At the battery cathode and DIE Shop area, we see a large section of asphalt has now been applied over the area we saw GeoTextile membranes and fill dirt placed on top. Not only does this give a much nicer prepared surface for workers, vehicles, and materials, but also should go a long way to solving the constant water ponding issue that was common on this side of the facilities.
