Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and soon, the Next Generation Car!

A rare weekend flight for me as I try to work around all the wintery and rainy weather (not to mention very cold temperatures) that has descended in the area. On Monday, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected, so instead of risking not being able to fly (or me getting drenched), I flew today.

Production of both the Model Y’s and Cybertrucks seemed to have been going well, with a nearly full outbound lot and both models interspersed among each other while transport trucks were busy loading up vehicles and headed off site.

In the video introduction, we discuss the upcoming 24 January 3rd Qtr and Annual 2023 Financial Results meeting held right here at Giga Texas, and the ending of Rob Maurer’s Tesla Daily program. My personal thanks to Rob for all the great work and support of the Tesla community over the past 6 years and best of luck in your new adventures!

I also use today’s introduction to provide a detailed discussion of the Boring Company’s Prufrock 3 Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) assembly and operation here at Giga Texas. Drawing on inputs form viewers who are experts in the field, Patreons and Will from “A Boring Revolution”, I put together a lot of information about the items that have been brought to Giga Texas and being set up to support the TBM operations, and additional information that I hope you find useful!

Here are a few additional highlights from today’s video:

On the west side, the new Supercharger station on the south end of the new End-of-Line facility saw the first 16 Supercharges installed along with more conduit work to support many more of these in addition to the footing mounts for the canopy that will cover the entire area!

Also on the West side, the new End-of-Line facility is getting more conduit installed along the north and west sides, some of which appears to be for lighting of the new outbound lot. Also, form work on the west wall base area appears to be for concrete walkways. More asphalt paving has been laid down on the outbound lot, completing a large section of the lot, and a new road intersection has been created with the new north-to-south access road, giving a entrance to the outbound lot.

The West Warehouse-on-Wheels (WOW) Yard extension now has a perimeter fence in addition to the gravel mis on the newly graded surface. I still expect to see this to include much, if not all of the east WOW Yard as that area is further developed for Tesla later this year.

The south end Steel assembly continued today, and more steel items were delivered and spaced along the perimeter grade beam. More of the huge Sedak Glass panes were being installed on the southeast corner, along with brackets on the second floor, suggesting the entire south end may be in glass! If so, this will be a completely new exterior amenity for Giga Texas with one end appearing to be made of glass walls!

Also on the southeast angled corner of the original building, four large metal tanks were under construction with crews welding exterior steel sheets to form the new tanks. These are being installed on the reinforced slab that was constructed towards the end of December (about a month ago). The purpose of these tanks is unknown to me at this time.
