MFG OR MF GHOST the PERFECT sequel to the Initial D series, which is probably one of the most influential pieces of work in the car enthusiast scene.

We believed that MF Ghost had the potential to be a staple in the car enthusiast community, similarly to its predecessor.

Season 1 covered the Odawara Pikes Peak qualifiers and finals and introduced the Lake Ashinoko qualifiers where Season 2 will begin from, which is confirmed to come in 2024.

With Season 1 coming to a close, let’s do an in depth review of the content provided to us and we’ll give you our thoughts on the anime.

MF GHOST is one of the most watched sporting events!

It is a renowned competition where racers from all over the world are competing one after another.

The races are held in Japan and the organizer and founder is Ryo Takahashi. The organization has been around for 4 years by the start of the story. MFG was started as the next step in /”Project D/” and is Ryosuke Takahashi’s answer to his theory on ultimate speed on public roads.

There are a total of five races per year.

Qualifying for MFG is carried out in a time attack format, with single runs starting at one-minute intervals over seven days. To ensure fairness of driving conditions, qualifying is held only on sunny days and will be postponed in case of rain. All competitors are aiming to finish within the top 30 but there is an even higher standard after TOP 30. That would be the Top 15 or /”Divine Fifteen/”. These top 15 finishers will be the only racers eligible to participate in the finals.

The finals are held in a race format, with the /”Divine Fifteen/” all racing and competing against each other to see who the real number 1 is!

MFG was designed for the sole purpose of achieving true speed and discovering who is able to reach that peak!
