Inspector Tiger (played by John Cleese) is an inspector who tries to solve a murder in the eleventh episode of the first series. He tries to explain to the other people in the room that nobody is allowed to leave the room, but in a case of severe dyslexia stumbles over his words and sentences until two nurses come in and perform a lobotomy on him.

After that surgery his brain seems to be functioning again and he introduces himself as /”Inspector Tiger/”. When the other people in the room shout out his surname in surprise Tiger believes there is a real tiger behind him and panicks. After he realizes the misunderstanding he states there has been a murder in the room. When the rest informs him this isn’ t the case he decides to wait until one happens. He sits down, the lights go out and when they are switched back on he is murdered in a rather cartoonish way.

Agatha Christie is a sketch that appears in /”The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Goes to the Bathroom,/” the eleventh episode of Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

Colonel Pickering (Graham Chapman), Lady Amanda Velloper (Carol Cleveland), Kirt (Terry Gilliam) and Anona Winn (Maureen Flanagan) are sitting in an Agatha Christie-style drawing room.

An inspector (John Cleese) enters and after stumbling over the wording to the point of complete incoherence, asks that nobody must leave the room. He then introduces himself as Inspector Tiger, and is startled when the others repeat ‘Tiger?’ Then, Inspector Tiger describes a murder that happened and again, explains the murderer is someone in this room. After he becomes even more tangled in his words, two nurses and a surgeon enter and perform a lobotomy on him.

Tiger resumes. The others are confused as nobody has been murdered to which the Inspector deems is ‘too simple, too clear-cut’. The lights go out and when they come back on, Tiger has been shot with an arrow and is dead. Then, Chief Superintendent Lookout (Eric Idle) enters with a constable (Michael Palin) and introduces himself. They are startled when Lady Velloper repeats ‘Lookout?’ He begins to try and solve Tiger’s murder, and decided to reconstruct the crime when he is shot dead with an arrow.

Assistant Chief Constable Theresamanbehindyer (Terry Jones) enters and introduces himself. He isn’t startled when the others repeat ‘There’s a man behind you?’ He decided to reconstruct the crime and orders Constable to be Inspector Tiger, to which he is shot by Chief Constable. Then, Chief Constable Fire (Ian Davidson) enters and is startled when the others repeat ‘Fire?’

The scene is then interrupted by the undertaker (Jones), who says they will return when something interesting happens, and introduces a film showing some friends of him. In the film, four undertakers empty the coffin they are carrying down into a backyard.

A letter from Ivor Bigbottie (age two) (Chapman) is shown, apologising that his letter should have been shown at the beginning of the programme.
