Phillip Sear plays a 1919 piece by the British composer Alfred William Rawlings (1860–1924) writing under the pseudonym ‘Florence Fare’.
——————————————————
Rawlings was the brother of the composer Charles Arthur Rawlings (1857–1919) and both were well-known for writing under multiple pseudonyms. Charles used over 60, and Alfred used around 30. IMSLP gives these pseudonyms for Alfred: Dressler, Max. Dumas, Gustav. Fare, Florence. Fortescue, Edith. Gordon, Stanley. Henry, Hamilton. Hope, Marcus. Jasper, Louis. Lemoine, Felix. Melrose, Gladys. Tchakoff, Ivan. Morriss, Guy. Natale, Tito. Saint-Quentin, Edward. Stephanoff, Ivan. Templeman, Horace. Therese, Jules. Tree, Lionel. White, Constance. Charles is better-known today, particularly under the name Theo Bonheur.

This piece is not particularly Hawaiian (as far as I can tell!). The sheet music cover is quite amusing. Published by the short-lived Herman Darewski music publishing business, it has a list of ‘morceaux’ by ’eminent composers’. Four different composer names are shown, and all of them are pseudonyms of Alfred Rawlings !
