During the Pearl Harbor incident, the U.S. Pacific Fleet suffered severe losses:
8 warships sank, and several aircraft carriers, cruisers, and destroyers were damaged.
Approximately 188 aircraft were destroyed or damaged.
The Pearl Harbor attack resulted in the death of 2403 Americans and left around 1100 injured.
Japan utilized about 353 aircraft and 5 submarines in the assault. Only 29 aircraft were reported destroyed during the attack. The tragic event claimed the lives of 55 pilots and 9 submarine crew members.
