Machakos Catholic Bishop Norman Kingoo is accusing the national government of crippling private hospitals in Kenya. Bishop Kingoo says failure by the national health insurance fund to pay private health providers has adversely affected capability.
Speaking during the commissioning of Dorothea Mission Health Centre in Matungulu, Machakos, Bishop Kingoo said private hospitals are contemplating closure as they struggle to pay medics and purchase medical supplies.
Kingoo called on the government to ensure the implementation of the social health insurance fund will seal loopholes urging legislators to push the government to pay private hospitals on time.
