Sometimes one good season can buy a player their place in a team for the foreseeable future.
During their hot spell, fans can get carried away calling them the best in the league and this will get them into their team’s first 11 for multiple seasons afterwards even though they never reach those levels again.

Only the chosen few can be great consistently and the players in this video don’t fall into that category.
These players who are luckily riding on last season’s performance.
The first player that comes to mind for this topic is Manchester United’s own Marcus Rashford.
Next on this list- Robert Lewandowski.
In his first season with the Blaugrana, he would go on to win the league and be crowned top scorer making it seem like he was just picking up where he had left off in Germany.
A player whose decline can’t be attributed to age is Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka. The youngster has found it much harder this season than last as he has not left his mark on games nearly as much.
His teammate Gabriel Martinelli has been having an even worse season on Arsenal’s left hand side, leaving the Gunners lacking significant goal threats.
